State of Louisiana Replaces 32 Radiobeacons with Nautel ND200S Systems! Nova Scotia, Canada, 23, January 2004 – The Louisiana Department
of Transportation and Development is in the process of replacing 32 of
its radiobeacons with Nautel ND200S systems. The first sixteen ND200S
systems were shipped from Nautel’s Bangor, Maine facility in March
2003, and Nautel shipped the final sixteen systems on January 14, 2004.
Each system included a ND200S, 50 watt non-direction radiobeacon;
NX500TUB, 125 watt automatic antenna tuning unit; T-20, 500 watt
(average) medium powered “T” antenna system; NAB5, high precision
battery charger; and cables, connectors, and special modifications.
"The various airport owners operating the state’s system of non-federal
non-directional beacon (NDB) sites, as well as our office are pleased
with the performance of the ND200S systems that have been commissioned
so far” said Mr. Allen Taylor, of the Louisiana Department of
Transportation and Development, Aviation Division.
In April 2003, Nautel hosted a 3-day technical training seminar
covering ND200 system installation and operation. Fifteen students
attended the course including technical support personnel and FAA
officials responsible for inspection and administration of FAA
regulations.
